Show of the Week: Batman Arkham Knight and How Dual Play Combat Works

Batman: Arkham Knight is out soon on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. See how Bat-pals Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman will be getting involved via the game’s Dual Play system in this week’s show. Subscribe for Show of the Week every Friday:

Batman: Arkham Knight is nearly upon us, giving the Dark Knight the freedom of the city of Gotham and a giant militarised supercar to get around in. It also adds Bats’ various sidekicks such as Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman into the mix. Find out how they’ll be joining in in Show of the Week.

When Rocksteady announced that Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman were going to be in Arkham Knight, and were going to be playable, we immediately thought co-op. But, that’s not the case. Instead we have a different system called dual play. It’s single-player, combat-focused and specific to certain types of missions.

In these dual play situations, Batman and his partner take on a group of thugs together. You start off playing as Bats, but can switch to the other character at any time. Get your combo high enough and you can hit left bumper to activate a dual play takedown where your partner will jump in and do something horribly violent to your enemy. Eat teamwork, crims.

Are you looking forward to the sprawling, complex Arkham Knight or do you prefer the simpler, stripped-back feel of the original Arkham Asylum? Let us know in the comments!

  1. I love you guys and all your videos. I've commented several times. This time, I'd just like to send a smile to Jane :-).

Dear Jane. With much respect, I must say, "You are So beautiful." Those sideways glances, that black left-shoulder hair, your killer in-game instincts, that lovely speaking voice, that superfluous Physics degree. The list goes on. Change nothing you're doing.

  2. So there's been 4 Batman Arkham games but they still havent put in even a co-op mode. Not Multiplayer, just co-op. GTFO

  3. Can someone explain the whole Robin and Nightwing thing? I thought Nightwing was Robin? I'm a bit of a DC noob so I'm not fully sure why their both in the game

  4. correct me if im wrong But isent dual play in the gaming world that thing that 3d TVs do were u can both see the full screen.. (batman got my hopes up on that)

  5. I  think the arkham knight is red hood, who is batman's old partner because red hood will kill in the movie and he must know batman due to being able to reconstruct his design but in a mech plus red hood steals money from criminals which is how he pays for the suit

  6. Batman can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Are these dual play actions for SIDE MISSIONS like robin and batman go after Harley
Nightwing and batman go after penguin
And cat women and batman go after the riddler

  8. Here's the game plot: Jump off building, start fight with bad guys, press Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, jump over the red guy, X, Y, Y, Y, drive Batmobile around and shoot a s**t load of fireworks. This will repeat 50+ times and then in the end Bruce Wayne will reveal he's really a she on the inside, and will transform into Caitlyn Wayne. And Bat-he-she will be born.

  9. Sorry, but Robin looks like crap. Also, here's my what i'm gonna steal riddle. It has been in te videos as long as any of you, yet has never done anything expect sit in the cornor and stay quiet. What is it? (BTW its not thecamera man)

  10. As a journalist, i would like to point out there should always be a secret pirate mission in this next Batman game entitled "Bat Sparrow: Arrrkham Knight".
